Spin Zero

2005 marks the 25th year of Roots and Culture at Radio Active. The Roots and Culture show broadcasts every Sunday from 4-7 pm and is essential listening for the best in classic and contemporary reggae and roots from around the world. The show has evolved throughout the years and is now run by a tight crew of DJs that play regularly throughout Wellington. It is one of the leading reggae shows in New Zealand and continues to promote and spearhead the reggae community throughout Wellington, playing only the very best selections every Sunday.

This Saturday 27 August sees the Roots and Culture crew putting on the first of two parties to commemorate this landmark occasion – Roots and Culture – A DeeJay Takeover. The crew will be mashing it up at the F:69 bar on Wellington’s waterfront, playing only the phattest selections of reggae, roots, ska, dancehall and dub. Tickets are available now from Slowboat records, so get in quick before they sell out. And watch out for the second party, taking place Friday 23 September.

Don’t miss one of the biggest parties of the year, this Saturday 27 August at the F:69 bar, a night of pure roots, reality and culture, and a chance to celebrate this pioneering and first rate reggae show.
